Emporium Arcade Bar seeks a Regional Manager to lead our 3 Chicago locations: Emporium Wicker Park, Emporium Logan Square and Emporium Fulton Market. We are an arcade / bar/ live event venue / private event venue / and much more! The RM must have extensive bar/restaurant/nightclub or other applicable experience in a top role. This position will report directly to the owners of the company and will supervise all other Chicago staff including the individual store GMs. An ability to interface and delegate with other managers is critical. This role will be ultimately responsible for the performance of the business. An ability to create and implement SOPs that are compatible with and an improvement on existing SOPS to ensure policies and standard operating procedures are followed at all locations. Must possess administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail. Should be equally comfortable in the office and on the floor on a busy Saturday night. The RM is ultimately responsible for overseeing operations for all Chicago locations. Some more specifics below – kind of long and redundant and still maybe forgot some things but the general gist is that this is a “360 degree” role with oversight in all aspects of the business including operations and marketing. This is the top role for all Chicago locations with advancement opportunities.

  • Approximately 5 years top level general management experience in the service industry, particularly in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent people skills – both staff and customers – Positive energy, leadership qualities, sets the right tone for our company at the top
  • Experience overseeing company financials and P&L reporting
  • A strong foundation in beer, wine and spirit knowledge and inventory controls
  • Very comfortable with technology and willingness to use technology to improve our business and open-mindedness to legacy operations including shared/remote systems, inventory systems, marketing/promo systems
  • Knowledge or and familiarity with our brand and diverse clientele
  • An appreciation for arcade games and entertainment including some understanding of live music and DJ culture and nightclub vibes
  • An ability to balance our cool, fun, relaxed vibe with tight business controls
  • Great ability to manage staff and customer issues with positivity
  • Understanding of and ability to interface with marketing and creatives
  • An ability to feel the room and make sure that we are setting the right atmosphere including sensibilities for music, lighting, video and other atmospheric elements
  • Not a big drinker or someone that would go out drinking regularly with staff
  • Irregular work schedule – our busiest hours of the week are 9-2 on Friday and Saturday night; flexible schedule ok but we typically are open when others aren’t; regular office hours will be combined with regular nighttime checkins. This is not m-f 9-5

    • Group and private party sales/reservations oversight, including large corporate parties

    • Appreciation for the big art murals we do
    • Sense of what the right music and video to play in background on a normal night – don’t have to be an expert but should have sensitivity to what isn’t right
